Thieves steal Rs 60 lakh jewellery from UP family in Shivpuri on Raksha Bandhan

A family from Uttar Pradesh celebrating Raksha Bandhan in Shivpuri, Madhya Pradesh, was robbed of jewellery worth about Rs 60 lakh, including 27 tola gold, 4 kg silver and cash.
A family from Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, travelled to Shivpuri in Madhya Pradesh to observe Raksha Bandhan. They stayed overnight in a vacant house that had been arranged for the celebration.
During the night, a group of thieves forced their way into the house and made away with a large cache of valuables. Police reports state that the loot comprised roughly 27 tola of gold, four kilograms of silver and cash amounting to about Rs 4 lakh, bringing the total value to close to Rs 60 lakh.
Local police have launched an investigation, reviewing CCTV footage from the neighbourhood and following other leads to identify the culprits. The case is being treated as a serious robbery, and authorities have appealed to the public for any information that could aid the probe.
