Tamil Nadu to Build New Secretariat at Pattinampakkam Near Marina Beach

Chennai – The state administration disclosed that a new secretariat will be erected at Pattinampakkam, a neighbourhood situated just north of the iconic Marina Beach. The decision aims to create a modern office hub for the Tamil Nadu government and to alleviate pressure on the existing Secretariat complex in Fort St. George.

The proposed complex will accommodate several key departments and ministerial offices under one roof, streamlining administrative processes. While specific design details have not been released, officials indicated that the building will incorporate contemporary infrastructure standards and sustainable features.

The project is slated to commence after the necessary clearances are obtained, with construction expected to span a few years. Once completed, the new secretariat is expected to improve operational efficiency and provide better accessibility for officials and the public alike.
