From September 19, the ‘Namo Seva’ initiative will stage 30‑minute street dramas in schools, colleges, villages and market places across Madhya Pradesh, with ten teams per district sharing stories of service and change.

The Madhya Pradesh government has announced that, beginning on September 19, the ‘Namo Seva’ campaign will bring street‑theatre performances to a wide range of public venues, including schools, colleges, village squares and local markets. The programme aims to use short, engaging dramas to highlight examples of public service and social transformation.

Under the scheme, each of the state’s districts will field ten mobile theatre groups. Each troupe will perform a 30‑minute play that narrates a real‑life story of community service, encouraging audiences to adopt similar values. The performances are scheduled to rotate through educational institutions and market areas, ensuring that both students and the general public can attend.

Officials said the initiative is designed to bridge the gap between government schemes and citizens by presenting information in an entertaining, easily understandable format. By leveraging the traditional art of street drama, the campaign hopes to inspire participation in civic activities and reinforce the message of service across the state.
