Fake IAS Himanshu Panchal duped over 25 women in Indore using AI‑generated uniform photos

A man posing as an Indian Administrative Service officer, later also as a police officer, scammed more than 25 women in Indore by creating AI‑fabricated uniform images and contacting them through matrimonial websites.
Police in Indore have opened a case after several women reported that a man, presenting himself as a civil servant, had extracted large sums of money from them. The suspect, identified as Himanshu Panchal, allegedly masqueraded as an Indian Administrative Service officer and, at an earlier stage, as a police official.
Investigators say Panchal used artificial‑intelligence tools to produce realistic photographs of himself in official uniforms. He then approached potential victims on popular matrimonial platforms, claiming to be a high‑ranking officer seeking a life partner, and persuaded them to transfer money for alleged marriage or dowry arrangements.
The fraud is reported to involve several million rupees across more than 25 victims. Authorities have warned the public to verify the credentials of anyone claiming official status online and have urged anyone approached in a similar manner to come forward.
