Indian police confiscated large quantities of ganja and heroin during two separate raids near the India‑Nepal border, authorities said.
Indian law enforcement officials announced that they seized substantial amounts of ganja and heroin during two distinct operations conducted near the India‑Nepal border.
The first raid, carried out by the Border Security Force, uncovered a stockpile of cannabis plants and related paraphernalia, while the second operation, conducted by the Narcotics Control Bureau, seized a cache of heroin tablets and syringes.
Sources said the seizures were part of a broader anti‑drug trafficking initiative aimed at curbing the flow of narcotics across the porous frontier.
Investigators are currently examining the supply chain and suspect that the drugs were being smuggled into India via small boats and overland routes.
The authorities have urged the public to report any suspicious activity and assured that further action would be taken against those involved in the trafficking network.
