An Assistant Sub‑Inspector (ASI) was shot dead while performing his duty at the home of retired Deputy Inspector General of Police (DGP) Arpit Shukla in Mohali, Punjab, on Sunday morning at approximately 6 a.m. The incident occurred inside the premises of the retired officer’s residence.
Police officials confirmed that the ASI was on routine security patrol when he was struck by a bullet fired from an unknown source. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
