Jalandhar police have filed two child‑marriage cases and taken one alleged facilitator into custody.
Jalandhar district police have formally registered two cases of child marriage after receiving complaints from local residents. The investigations revealed that the marriages involved minors, violating the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, 2006.
The police apprehended one individual suspected of arranging and conducting the illegal ceremony. He was arrested at the scene and handed over to the judicial system for further processing.
