The Bihar district administration has issued a detailed traffic management plan for the Pitrupaksha Mela Mahasangam-2026 in Gayaji, starting on September 25, including timed bans on heavy vehicles, one‑way corridors and designated parking zones.

The district authorities in Bihar released a comprehensive traffic blueprint ahead of the Pitrupaksha Mela Mahasangam-2026, scheduled to commence on 25 September in Gayaji. The plan aims to streamline the movement of pilgrims and prevent gridlock during the three‑day religious gathering.

Under the scheme, entry of heavy trucks and buses will be prohibited during peak hours, with specific time windows allocated for their movement. A one‑way traffic system will be enforced on the main approach roads, and temporary parking bays have been earmarked on the outskirts of the fairground to accommodate private vehicles.

Officials have urged devotees to adhere to the stipulated routes and to use the designated parking areas. Enforcement teams from the police and the local transport department will monitor compliance, and violators may face fines or detention of vehicles. The administration expects the measures to reduce congestion and ensure a smoother experience for the thousands expected to attend the mela.
