Traffic Diversion Plan Implemented for Rahul Gandhi’s Arrival in Indore on Sept 19

On September 19, Indore’s traffic police will enforce a diversion plan, banning heavy vehicles on 13 routes and designating five no‑vehicle zones as Rahul Gandhi arrives from the airport to Vijay Nagar.
Indore’s traffic department announced that a new traffic management scheme will come into force at 1 p.m. on September 19 to accommodate the arrival of senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. The plan bars heavy vehicles on thirteen major arteries and converts five stretches into no‑vehicle zones, aiming to ensure smooth movement of the official convoy from the airport to the Vijay Nagar hotel.
Five designated welcome points have been set up along the route, starting from the airport and extending to the hotel. At each location, security personnel and local officials will greet the delegation, creating controlled gathering spots that minimise disruption to regular commuters.
Motorists are advised to follow the diversion signs, use alternate routes suggested by the police, and avoid the restricted corridors during the stipulated hours. The traffic police have also deployed additional personnel at critical junctions to manage flow and address any grievances from the public.
