Torrential rains flood US-Mexico border, cars swept away, homes submerged

Heavy rainstorms swept across sections of the United States and Mexico, triggering flash floods that inundated streets and low‑lying neighborhoods. The deluge forced water to rise rapidly, sweeping away several parked cars and submerging dozens of homes under several feet of water. Emergency responders in the affected regions deployed rescue teams and boats to evacuate residents trapped in flooded dwellings and to retrieve vehicles stranded in the currents. Local authorities have issued evacuation orders for the most vulnerable areas and warned that the situation could worsen as more rain is forecast for the coming days. Residents are urged to stay indoors, avoid travel on flooded roads, and follow updates from weather agencies and emergency services.
