Three suspects who opened fire at the gate of Maner police station in Patna were pursued for about 11 kilometres and arrested within half an hour.
On Saturday night, three individuals arrived on a motorcycle near the gate of Maner police station in Patna and one of them discharged a firearm at the entrance, directly challenging the police presence.
The trio fled towards Danapur, prompting a rapid response from law‑enforcement teams. Officers pursued the suspects on foot and by vehicle, covering roughly 11 kilometres before intercepting them.
Within about thirty minutes of the initial firing, the police succeeded in apprehending all three men. No injuries were reported among the police personnel or civilians during the incident.
Senior police officials said the swift action underscores the department’s zero‑tolerance policy towards armed intimidation and that a detailed investigation is underway to determine the motive behind the attack.
