A Telangana Basketball Association official has been booked by police after a player accused him of sexual harassment. The case was filed under the Indian Penal Code and the Prevention of Sexual Harassment Act.
Police in Telangana booked a senior official of the Telangana Basketball Association on Thursday after a player alleged sexual harassment. The complaint was lodged at the local police station and the case was registered under sections 354 and 354A of the Indian Penal Code as well as the Prevention of Sexual Harassment Act. The official was taken into custody and is expected to appear in court on a scheduled date. The Telangana Basketball Association has stated that it is cooperating with the investigation and has suspended the official pending the outcome of the legal process.
