The second and final phase of Rajasthan's urban local body elections started, with voting in six major municipal corporations continuing until 10 a.m.
The Election Commission of India has opened the second and final phase of the urban local body polls in Rajasthan. Voting began early in the morning across six municipal corporations, namely Jaipur, Jodhpur, Kota, Ajmer, Udaipur and Pali. Polling stations remained operational until 10 a.m., allowing residents to cast their votes for mayoral and council positions.
These urban elections are part of the broader state-wide local body schedule, aimed at electing representatives who will manage civic services in the state's major cities. The phased approach is intended to ensure orderly conduct and adequate security across the densely populated urban centres.
Election officials have reported a steady flow of voters at the booths, with no major incidents reported so far. The results from this phase will be declared after the counting process, which is expected to commence once all phases are completed.
