Sanand Police arrested Bharatansinh alias Mama Bhikhubha Vaghela after a raid on his flat in Sundaram Apartment, following senior officials' directive to curb prohibition violations.
The raid, prompted by a tip, uncovered 504 bottles/tins of Indian-made foreign liquor and beer, along with a Samsung mobile phone, with a total value of Rs 1,43,680.
The seized items were recovered from the meter room of flat C/607. A second resident, Digvijaysinh alias Digo Vikramsinh Chavda, is also wanted in connection with the case.
A case has been lodged under sections 65(A)(E), 116(B) and 81 of the Prohibition Act. The Sanand Police Station Surveillance Team received commendation for its role.
