Union minister Sachin Pilot criticised the state’s dilapidated government schools, citing roof collapses and safety concerns for children.
During a press briefing in Jaipur, Union Minister Sachin Pilot targeted the Rajasthan government over the poor condition of its public schools. He pointed out that many school buildings are structurally unsound, with several roofs having collapsed in recent weeks, endangering students and staff.
Pilot urged the state administration to launch an immediate audit of all government school facilities and to allocate urgent funds for repairs and safety upgrades. He emphasized that children’s right to a safe learning environment must not be compromised by neglect.
The minister also called on the media to highlight the issue, warning that continued inaction could lead to further accidents. As of now, the state government has not issued an official response to Pilot’s allegations.
The criticism adds pressure on Rajasthan’s education department to address infrastructure gaps before the upcoming academic session begins.
