Mumbai police have filed a criminal case against two sisters accused of demanding Rs 7 lakh to suppress a video that allegedly shows a rat in a dosa.
Mumbai police on Tuesday registered a criminal case against two sisters, alleging they tried to extort Rs 7 lakh by threatening to release a video that purportedly shows a rat inside a dosa.
According to the police complaint, the sisters approached the owner of a street‑food stall, demanding the money in exchange for not publishing the clip on social media. The video, which has not been made public, reportedly captured a rodent moving on the surface of the dosa during preparation.
Investigators have seized the mobile device from which the video was allegedly recorded and are questioning the suspects. The sisters face charges under sections related to extortion and criminal intimidation, and the case will be forwarded to the court for trial.
