The government is set to inaugurate a Rs 1 lakh‑crore horticulture hub today, aiming to boost India's horticulture sector.
The Ministry of Agriculture announced that a horticulture hub valued at Rs 1 lakh crore will be officially launched today. The inauguration marks one of the largest single‑investment projects in the Indian horticulture landscape.
The hub is intended to consolidate research, processing and marketing facilities under one umbrella, thereby enhancing productivity and value addition across the sector. Officials expect the project to generate substantial employment opportunities and to strengthen India's position in global fruit and vegetable exports.
Details on the hub's location, operational framework and stakeholder participation are slated to be disclosed during the launch ceremony, as the government seeks to accelerate growth in the horticulture value chain.
