Jaipur, September 29 — The Rajasthan state administration has launched the drafting of a dedicated youth budget for the fiscal year 2027-28, marking the first such initiative in the state's history. The Youth Affairs and Sports Department has been appointed as the nodal agency responsible for formulating the budget, which aims to channel resources specifically toward youth development programs, skill training, sports infrastructure, and employment generation.
Officials said the separate budget will allow for clearer tracking of expenditures targeting the 18-35 age group and will be aligned with the state's broader socio‑economic goals. To ensure the budget reflects ground realities, the department has opened a public consultation process, inviting suggestions, ideas, and feedback from students, young professionals, and civil‑society groups across Rajasthan.
The move comes as part of the state government's broader effort to address youth unemployment and promote sports participation. While detailed allocations are yet to be disclosed, authorities indicated that the youth budget will complement existing schemes such as the Rajasthan Youth Employment Scheme and the State Sports Promotion Initiative.
