A police convoy sent to arrest a suspect in Manigachi, Darbhanga, was pelted with stones by locals, breaking the vehicle’s windshield and injuring an Assistant Sub‑Inspector.
A police team from Darbhanga district moved to Manigachi to apprehend a suspect identified as Ajay Passwan. The operation was part of an ongoing investigation into a local dispute.
As the convoy approached the village, a group of residents gathered and began throwing stones at the police vehicle. The barrage shattered the windshield and caused the vehicle to halt temporarily.
During the scuffle, an Assistant Sub‑Inspector sustained injuries from the stones and was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. The suspect, who attempted to flee custody, also suffered injuries in the clash. Police officials have lodged a FIR and are conducting a detailed inquiry into the incident.
