Bihar police intercepted a parcel pickup on NH‑333B near Heera Toll, recovering over 1,100 litres of foreign liquor being moved from Jharkhand, and arrested a suspect.

Police in the Sahebpur Kamal sub‑division of Begusarai district stopped a postal parcel pickup near Heera Toll zero‑mile chowk on National Highway 333B and uncovered a large consignment of foreign liquor. The seizure amounted to 1,186.92 litres of alcoholic beverage, which is classified as contraband under state law.
According to officials, the liquor was being transported from Dumka in Jharkhand, travelling via the Munger‑Pul route before entering Bihar. The illicit cargo was concealed within a standard postal parcel, suggesting an attempt to evade detection by using the courier system.
During the operation, police detained one individual believed to be responsible for arranging the shipment. The arrested person is currently in custody and will face charges related to illegal possession and transport of foreign liquor.
The seizure underscores ongoing efforts by Bihar law‑enforcement agencies to curb the smuggling of prohibited alcohol, a problem that has health and revenue implications for the state.
