A joint team of Bihar police, Childline and the State Human Rights Commission raided several orchestras in Madhubani, freeing around 50 minor girls suspected of being trafficked.

A coordinated operation involving the Bihar police, Childline and the State Human Rights Commission was carried out in Madhubani district. The teams targeted a number of local orchestras that were suspected of being used as fronts for child trafficking.
During the raids, officials rescued between 50 and 60 girls, all minors, who were allegedly being groomed for illegal exploitation. The children were taken into protective custody and handed over to child welfare authorities for further care and rehabilitation.
Authorities said the operation was part of a broader effort to dismantle trafficking networks that operate under the guise of cultural performances. The rescued girls are being provided medical examinations and counselling, while investigations continue to identify and prosecute the perpetrators.
The joint task force will maintain heightened surveillance in the region to prevent a resurgence of similar activities and to ensure the safety of vulnerable children.
