Udaipur police arrested three suspects, including gang leader Anand alias Kukdiya Verma, and recovered jewellery worth about ₹60 lakh buried in Chambl's Bihadon area, linked to a ₹1 crore theft from a local showroom.
Udaipur police announced the arrest of three individuals suspected of orchestrating a large‑scale jewellery theft. The accused include gang leader Anand, known locally as Kukdiya Verma, along with two accomplices. Investigators say the group stole jewellery worth roughly ₹1 crore from a prominent showroom in the city.
During the follow‑up operation, officers uncovered a cache of stolen items valued at about ₹60 lakh, hidden underground in the Bihadon locality of Chambl, a village on the outskirts of Udaipur. The haul was recovered after a thorough search of the area based on intelligence inputs.
The police have seized the recovered jewellery and forwarded it to the forensic lab for verification of ownership. The suspects are currently in custody and will face charges of robbery, criminal conspiracy and possession of stolen property. The investigation remains ongoing to identify any additional members of the network and to recover the remaining stolen assets.
