Patna records the highest number of traffic challans in Bihar, averaging more than 2,000 fines per day, while thousands across the state remain unpaid.
Patna has emerged as the top district in Bihar for traffic violations, with authorities issuing an average of over 2,000 challans each day, according to recent data. The volume of fines in the capital surpasses that of any other district in the state, which follow in the ranking with lower daily counts.
The high issuance rate reflects both the dense traffic conditions in Patna and intensified enforcement measures by the traffic police. Despite the large number of fines, officials report that a significant number of motorists across Bihar have not yet cleared their dues, leaving thousands of challans unpaid.
State officials have highlighted the backlog of pending payments and are urging vehicle owners to settle their fines promptly. Some pending cases may be addressed through Lok Adalat sessions, where eligible motorists can seek waiver or reduction of penalties under specific conditions.
