More than 1.5 million farmers in Odisha have completed registration for the Kharif paddy crop for the 2026-27 season, reports Kanak News.
The state agriculture department in Odisha has recorded registrations from over 15 lakh farmers for the upcoming Kharif paddy season of 2026-27, according to a report by Kanak News. This massive enrollment reflects the scale of the state's rice cultivation base and the continued reliance on formal registration mechanisms for crop planning and procurement.
Farmers across the state submitted their details through the online portal and designated offline centers, ensuring that their land holdings and expected sowing areas are captured in the official database. The registration process, which began earlier this year, is a prerequisite for accessing government procurement, minimum support price (MSP) guarantees, and other scheme benefits.
