Muzaffarpur police, including the Special Task Force (STF) and officers from Turkey police station, carried out a coordinated raid on a suspected heroin trafficking network that had brought a consignment from Assam. The operation resulted in the detention of five individuals, among them a woman identified as a drug peddler from Patna.
The seized material comprised heroin with an estimated street value of around ₹5 million, along with cash amounting to ₹2.5 lakh recovered from the suspects' possession.
Authorities confirmed that the arrested persons are being interrogated, and further investigative steps are underway to trace the source of the narcotics and any additional accomplices.
The STF has stated that the bust underscores its continued focus on curbing drug trafficking in Bihar, especially routes that channel narcotics from neighboring states.
No injuries were reported during the operation, and the seized drugs have been handed over to the forensic laboratory for detailed analysis.
