Mohali police have registered a case after a fraud of ₹15 lakh was reported, wherein the accused promised to redeem gold from Muthoot Finance and secure a loan for the victim. The investigation is underway.
The fraud was reported to the Mohali police station, where the complainant stated that individuals posed as agents offering to release gold pledged with Muthoot Finance and arrange a loan. They allegedly collected ₹15 lakh from the victim before disappearing.
Police have filed an FIR under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code for cheating and fraud. Investigators are examining bank records and communication traces to identify the accused.
