Miri-Piri Khalsa March Commences Second Phase Toward Chamkaur Sahib

Amritsar witnessed the launch of the second phase of the Miri-Piri Khalsa march early today, as participants set out for Chamkaur Sahib, a town revered for its Sikh heritage. The procession, organized by community volunteers, follows an earlier leg that covered a different route across the state.

The march aims to honor the dual spiritual and temporal principles of Sikhism, symbolised by the Miri (temporal) and Piri (spiritual) concepts, by traversing sites of historical significance. Chamk aur Sahib, known for the martyrdom of Guru Gobind Singh's sons, serves as the focal point of this phase.

Organisers have coordinated with local authorities to ensure a peaceful passage, and the march is expected to conclude with prayers at the Gurudwara in Chamkaur Sahib later this week. The event underscores the continued relevance of Sikh traditions in contemporary Punjab society.
