Maharashtra Food Safety and Standards Authority (FDA) has revoked the operating licence of a kitchen in Kurla, Mumbai, following an inspection that uncovered cockroach infestation and several hygiene breaches.
The same sweep resulted in the suspension of licences for three ISKCON‑run food outlets in Juhu, Mumbai, where pest presence and multiple safety violations were documented.
Officials noted that cockroaches were found in food‑preparation areas, cleaning protocols were inadequate, and overall sanitary conditions failed to meet state regulations, prompting immediate action.
The FDA stressed that it will continue routine inspections of establishments supplying meals to railway passengers and other public venues to enforce compliance with food‑safety standards.
