Landslides Sever Road Links in Sikkim, Nepal and Bhutan

Heavy rain triggered a series of landslides across the Himalayan region, cutting off key highways in Sikkim, Nepal and Bhutan. The affected routes include the National Highway 10 in Sikkim, as well as mountain roads linking eastern Nepal and western Bhutan, where debris and fallen trees have rendered the passages unsafe.
Local authorities in each country have deployed rescue teams and engineering units to clear the obstructions and assess structural damage. Traffic has been diverted to alternate paths where possible, but many remote villages remain isolated pending full restoration.
Officials warned commuters and transport operators to avoid the impacted zones until clearance work is completed. Ongoing monitoring of slope stability and weather forecasts will guide further response measures to prevent additional disruptions.
