The Karnataka government had recently alleged that the ethanol content in petrol being sold in the state was higher than the permissible limit. They had called for an investigation into the matter. However, OMCs have denied these allegations, stating that the ethanol content in petrol being supplied in Karnataka is within the prescribed norms.
