Union Home Minister JP Nadda visited the severely affected Nepalikhuti area on the Assam‑Nagaland border on July 19, pledging comprehensive assistance from the central government.
On July 19, the Union Home Minister, JP Nadda, travelled to the Nepalikhuti area along the Assam‑Nagaland border, one of the hardest-hit zones in the recent flood wave.
Accompanied by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Nadda inspected damaged homes, stranded residents and the extent of water‑logged infrastructure.
During the visit, the minister assured that the central government would provide immediate relief supplies, medical aid and long‑term rehabilitation funds to the affected communities.
Local officials reported that the floods have displaced thousands, destroyed crops and disrupted transportation, underscoring the urgency of the central support promised by Nadda.
