The Jharkhand High Court has stayed the order that cancelled the appointment of 99 candidates to the Jharkhand Subordinate Service Commission's Combined Graduate Level posts.
Ranchi, Sep 8 (PTI) – The Jharkhand High Court on Thursday issued a stay on the order that had cancelled the appointments of 99 candidates selected for the Jharkhand Subordinate Service Commission’s Combined Graduate Level (JSSC‑CGL) posts. The bench, headed by Justice ___, held that the petitioners were entitled to relief pending a detailed hearing on the merits of the cancellation.
The JSSC had earlier announced the recruitment of 99 officers for various administrative positions across the state. After the selection process, the commission issued a notice cancelling the appointments, citing concerns that have not been disclosed publicly. The affected candidates approached the High Court, arguing that the cancellation violated procedural norms and their right to a fair appointment.
The court’s interim order restores the candidates’ status as appointed officers until the case is finally decided. It also directed the commission to maintain the incumbency of the candidates and to submit a detailed report on the reasons for the cancellation within a stipulated timeframe.
Legal experts note that the stay does not equate to a final endorsement of the appointments but ensures that the candidates are not left in limbo while the dispute is examined.
