Jaipur police said they uncovered the kidnapping conspiracy against Chartered Accountant Rajiv Gupta using footage from about 1,000 CCTV cameras and arrested mastermind Chetan Sharma alias 'Lala' along with three accomplices.
Jaipur police have disclosed the details of a kidnapping plot targeting Chartered Accountant Rajiv Gupta at the city’s Central Park. The investigation relied on footage from roughly one thousand CCTV cameras installed across the area, which helped trace the conspirators.
The review of the recordings identified Chetan Sharma, known locally as 'Lala', as the mastermind behind the scheme. He, together with three other suspects, was taken into custody by the police on Monday.
Authorities said the group had planned the abduction to extract a substantial ransom, and the accused have been charged under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. The case remains under investigation, and police have appealed for public cooperation.
