The Indian Meteorological Department’s latest bulletin notes that September has arrived while the southwest monsoon remains active across the country.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an update on 1 September, confirming that the new month has officially started.
In the same bulletin, IMD stressed that the southwest monsoon has not yet withdrawn and will continue to influence weather patterns across large parts of India throughout September.
The department highlighted that regions traditionally under the monsoon’s reach – including the western coastline, the Konkan belt and several interior districts – should stay alert for further showers and the possibility of localized flooding.
Farmers, commuters and disaster‑management agencies have been advised to keep a close watch on local forecasts and take appropriate precautionary steps as the monsoon persists into the new month.
