IIT Hyderabad Plants 10,000 Saplings, Hoists Flag on 100-foot Mast for Independence Day

On 15 August, IIT Hyderabad marked Independence Day by planting 10,000 saplings across its sprawling campus. The initiative, part of the institute’s green campus drive, saw students, faculty and staff participate in a coordinated planting exercise. A 100-foot mast was erected at the central quad, where the national flag was hoisted at noon to mark the national holiday. The event underscored the institute’s commitment to environmental stewardship and patriotic celebration.
