The state has witnessed relentless rain since the start of September, reversing a earlier June deficit. Officials report that cumulative rainfall has now exceeded 30 inches, a significant recovery for the monsoon season. As water levels rose, several rivers and drainage channels breached their banks, inundating low-lying areas.
In response, authorities opened the gates of multiple dams to discharge excess water and prevent structural damage. This measure aims to manage reservoir levels while mitigating flood risks downstream. Emergency teams remain on standby to assist affected communities.
