The Haryana cabinet has approved a set of rules aimed at regulating coaching centres across the state, addressing concerns over quality and licensing.
On Thursday, the Haryana cabinet sanctioned a comprehensive framework to oversee coaching centres operating within the state. The new rules, which were drafted by the Department of Education, seek to standardise admission procedures, fee structures and teacher qualifications.
The decision follows growing public concern over unregulated coaching institutes that often charge exorbitant fees without delivering promised results. By mandating registration and periodic audits, the government aims to curb malpractice and ensure transparency.
Under the guidelines, every coaching centre must obtain a licence from the state education board and submit annual reports on student enrolment and faculty credentials. Failure to comply could result in fines or closure.
The cabinet also announced plans to set up a monitoring committee that will review complaints and conduct surprise inspections. The move is expected to bring uniformity to the coaching sector and protect students and parents alike.
