Gwalior: Man Arrested for Alleged Sexual Assault After Supposed Tantrik Treatment

Police in Gwalior arrested Kamal Rathore, alias Patel, after a woman reported being sexually assaulted by him following a visit to cure her husband's alcoholism.
A resident of Gwalior approached a self‑styled tantrik seeking a remedy for her husband's alcohol addiction. According to her later statement, the practitioner offered her a sweet laced with narcotics and subsequently forced himself on her, continuing to threaten her for ten months thereafter.
The victim confided the incident to her close friends and her husband. Acting on the information, the relatives and friends accompanied her to the local police station, where they lodged a formal complaint against the accused.
Based on the complaint, Gwalior police registered a case against Kamal Rathore, also known as Patel, and arrested him on charges of sexual assault and intimidation. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities have indicated that further legal action will follow as evidence is gathered.
The incident highlights growing concerns over fraudulent spiritual practitioners exploiting vulnerable individuals in the region.
