Six individuals suspected of belonging to the Rohit Godara and Lipin Nehra criminal networks were arrested by Gurugram police on Tuesday.
Gurugram police announced the arrest of six persons on Tuesday, saying they are believed to be part of the criminal outfits led by Rohit Godara and Lipin Nehra. The arrests were carried out after a coordinated operation at multiple locations across the city, according to a statement released by the police department.
Both Godara and Nehra have been under investigation for a range of offences, including extortion, illegal land grabbing and violent intimidation of local businesses. Over the past year, the two gangs have been linked to several high‑profile incidents in the National Capital Region, prompting a focused crackdown by law‑enforcement agencies.
Senior Superintendent of Police (Crime) Rajesh Kumar said the six detainees are being interrogated for further intelligence on the gangs' hierarchy and ongoing illegal activities. He added that the investigation will continue to uncover additional members and recover any illicit assets seized during the operation.
The police have not disclosed the names of the arrested individuals, citing procedural requirements, but confirmed that they will be presented before a magistrate within the stipulated legal timeframe.
