The Goa state administration will disburse financial assistance to 106 victims of the recent Vasco market fire, as announced today.

Goa's Chief Minister's office confirmed that the state will release cash assistance to the 106 individuals who lost property and livelihood in the fire that broke out at the Vasco market last week. The aid package, approved by the state disaster management committee, aims to provide immediate relief for medical expenses, temporary shelter and reconstruction of damaged stalls.

The beneficiaries will receive the funds today through direct bank transfers, a move intended to expedite support and reduce bureaucratic delays. Officials said the amount per household has been calibrated based on the extent of loss reported by each family.

Local authorities have urged the affected traders to submit the required documentation by the end of the day to ensure smooth processing. The government also pledged to monitor the situation and consider additional measures if further assistance is needed.

The fire, which engulfed several stalls in the bustling Vasco market, left dozens homeless and disrupted the supply chain for many small businesses in the region. Community leaders have thanked the state for the prompt financial response, calling it a vital step toward recovery.
