A surprise inspection by Madhya Pradesh food safety officials in Indore uncovered rodent debris, flies and stale ingredients at several major fast‑food chains, prompting notices of violation.

On Tuesday, the Madhya Pradesh Food Safety and Standards Authority (MPFSSA) carried out unannounced inspections at a number of high‑profile fast‑food outlets in Indore, including Domino’s Pizza, Subway, KFC, Pizza Hut and La Pinoz.\n\nInspectors reported finding rodent droppings and other signs of mouse activity at the Domino’s outlet, while flies, stale or expired ingredients and incomplete paperwork were observed at several other sites. These conditions were deemed violations of the Food Safety and Standards Act.\n\nThe authority issued show‑cause notices to the establishments, directing them to rectify the lapses and submit to a follow‑up inspection within a prescribed timeframe. Officials warned that failure to comply could attract heavier penalties, including temporary closure.\n\nThe episode underscores rising public concern over food‑borne hazards in urban eateries, prompting regulators to tighten oversight of hygiene practices across the city.
