ED raids homes of PWD engineer K.K. Singare in Chhindwara and Balaghat over alleged disproportionate assets

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) launched coordinated raids at approximately 5:45 a.m. on Thursday at the residential premises of K.K. Singare, the acting engineer of the Madhya Pradesh Public Works Department (PWD), located in the districts of Chhindwara and Balaghat. The operation was carried out simultaneously in both locations as part of a probe into alleged disproportionate assets.

According to the ED, the raids were prompted by a preliminary enquiry that suggested Singare's declared income did not match the value of his assets. The agency seized documents, electronic devices and other material that could help establish the source of wealth.

Officials from the ED confirmed that the investigation also includes a forensic examination of the engineer's bank accounts and financial records. No arrests were reported at the time of the raid, and the PWD has not released an official comment on the matter.

The case underscores the central government's ongoing focus on curbing corruption and illicit wealth accumulation among public officials. Further developments are expected as the ED completes its forensic analysis and files a charge sheet, if warranted.
