Punjab police intercepted a drone carrying 2.76 kg of heroin over Amritsar and arrested a suspect involved in the operation.
Punjab police reported that a low‑altitude drone was spotted flying over the outskirts of Amritsar on Tuesday, carrying a concealed package of heroin. A rapid response team tracked the unmanned aircraft, forced it to land and recovered a total of 2.76 kilograms of the narcotic.
Investigators recovered the drone and its control equipment, which are being examined for forensic evidence. The operation led to the identification and arrest of a male suspect believed to be part of a larger trafficking network that uses aerial delivery to evade ground checks.
