Divit Aulakh, son of speed‑record holder Dinesh Aulakh who died in a highway crash, was cremated today at Model Town crematorium in Jalandhar, with Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann scheduled to pay respects.
Divit Aulakh, the 23‑year‑old son of Dinesh Aulakh – a well‑known speed‑record holder in Punjab – was laid to rest today at the Model Town cremation ground in Jalandhar. The funeral took place in the afternoon following the tragic highway collision that claimed his life earlier this month.
State officials confirmed that Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will join the grieving family and local dignitaries at the cremation site to offer condolences. The CM’s presence underscores the government’s acknowledgement of the loss suffered by a family known in the state’s motor‑sport circles.
Family members, friends and a small gathering of community leaders attended the rites, which were conducted according to Hindu customs. No further details about the accident have been released beyond the initial report that it was a high‑speed crash on a national highway.
