The Gujarat government inaugurated a 30‑bed dialysis unit, expanded Surgical and Medical ICUs and upgraded the Casualty Department at New Civil Hospital, Surat, in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi and Health Minister Praful Pansheriya.

Surat, Gujarat – In a ceremony attended by Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi and Health Minister Praful Pansheriya, New Civil Hospital unveiled a suite of new healthcare facilities. The inauguration featured a state‑of‑the‑art 30‑bed dialysis unit, alongside expansions of both the Surgical Intensive Care Unit and the Medical Intensive Care Unit.

The hospital also saw an upgradation of its Casualty Department, aimed at improving emergency response capabilities. Officials highlighted that the enhancements are part of a broader effort to modernise the city's medical infrastructure.

The new facilities are expected to provide patients with more accessible, timely and quality medical care, particularly for those requiring specialised treatment such as dialysis and critical care.

The projects reflect the Gujarat government's commitment to strengthening health services in the region, ensuring that Surat's growing population has access to advanced medical resources.

Stakeholders expressed optimism that the upgraded infrastructure will reduce patient load on nearby hospitals and improve overall health outcomes in the district.
