Ajmer cyber police announced the arrest of Vikas Kumar, a resident of Delhi, in connection with a cyber fraud that allegedly involved Rs 6.5 million. The suspect was taken into custody after investigators traced the illegal transfer of funds to a corporate bank account under the pretext of renewing insurance policies.
According to the police, the fraudsters approached victims by offering policy renewal services, collected the money online, and then diverted the amounts to a firm’s account, effectively defrauding the payers. The total sum involved in the scheme is reported to be approximately Rs 6.5 lakh.
Police officials stated that the investigation is ongoing and that further arrests may follow as they continue to examine the network behind the scam. The case underscores the rising incidence of cyber‑based financial frauds targeting citizens across state lines.
