Police in Delhi have detained a husband‑wife duo accused of passing defence‑related information to Pakistan’s Inter‑Services Intelligence and of sending SIM cards to the country.

Delhi police announced the arrest of a married couple on suspicion of espionage for Pakistan's Inter‑Services Intelligence (ISI). The duo was taken into custody after investigators linked them to a series of communications that allegedly facilitated the transfer of defence‑related data to foreign agents.
According to the preliminary findings, the pair is accused of leaking sensitive information pertaining to India's defence establishments and of shipping SIM cards to Pakistan, which could be used to sustain covert contacts. Authorities say the SIM cards were dispatched through regular courier services, bypassing standard security checks.
The investigation, currently being handled by national security agencies, is ongoing. Officials have not disclosed the exact nature of the leaked material or the identities of the recipients. The couple faces charges under the Official Secrets Act and provisions of the Indian Penal Code related to espionage and unlawful communication with a foreign power.
Legal proceedings are expected to commence shortly, with the accused likely to be remanded in custody pending trial. The case underscores heightened vigilance by Indian agencies against foreign intelligence operations targeting defence secrets.
