Clerk Caught Red-Handed Taking Bribe at Vaishali Collectorate

A clerk at the sub-divisional office in Vaishali was apprehended by the Vigilance Investigation Bureau while accepting a bribe of Rs 2,000. The bribe was allegedly demanded to expedite a PDS license renewal file.

In Vaishali, Bihar, a clerk from the sub-divisional office was arrested by the Vigilance Investigation Bureau on charges of accepting a bribe. The incident occurred at the district collectorate premises.

The accused clerk, identified as Suman Saurabh, was reportedly caught red-handed while accepting Rs 2,000. This amount was allegedly demanded to process and advance a file pertaining to the renewal of a Public Distribution System (PDS) license.

Sources indicate that the Vigilance Bureau acted after a complaint was filed and verified. A trap was subsequently laid, leading to the apprehension of the clerk in the act of receiving the illicit payment.
