China has reportedly denied Indian forces access to several strategic patrolling points along the Arunachal Pradesh border, raising concerns over escalating tensions in the region.
India’s Border Roads Organisation (BRO) had been conducting routine patrols at a series of high‑altitude points along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Arunachal Pradesh. According to a senior Indian military officer, Chinese border troops have blocked access to these sites, preventing Indian patrols from moving forward.
The denial came after a brief exchange of signals between the two sides. Indian officials say the Chinese forces have erected temporary barriers and increased surveillance at the disputed locations.
The incident follows a series of border skirmishes in the past year, prompting both governments to reinforce their positions. Delhi has called for a diplomatic dialogue to resolve the impasse.
Military analysts warn that the blockage could lead to a further escalation of tensions, especially as both sides prepare for the upcoming monsoon season, which typically hampers movement in the region.
