The UPSC selection committee has approved the names of 15 Rajasthan RAS officers—12 from the 1998 batch and three from the 1999 batch—for promotion to the Indian Administrative Service.
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced that the names of fifteen Rajasthan RAS officers have been cleared for promotion to the Indian Administrative Service. The selection committee’s decision covers officers from two seniority groups: twelve officers belonging to the 1998 batch and three officers from the 1999 batch.
These promotions are part of the regular career‑advancement process for State Administrative Service (RAS) officers who meet the eligibility criteria set by the UPSC. Once the names are confirmed, the officers will be inducted into the IAS cadre after completing the requisite training and formalities.
The move is expected to strengthen the administrative machinery in Rajasthan by bringing experienced officers into the higher echelons of the civil service. It also fulfills the aspirations of the selected officers, who have spent years serving at the state level before being elevated to the national cadre.
The UPSC’s decision will be communicated to the concerned officers and the Rajasthan government, which will facilitate their transition to the IAS.
